Life Is Hard, But God!

Image
I don't know if people still read blog posts but I have been wanting to write about some things and have been putting it off for a while because I didn't think anyone still read them. Either way, I will start posting more often and if people read it, great, if not, that's ok too.  I have been going through a really hard time recently and had to swallow "my pride" so many times that I really wonder if there is any left to swallow. Everything is in God's hands, but sometimes God allows me to go through something really hard. In those times people are quick to tell me its in God's hands which makes me mad. I am allowed to cry and struggle even though everything is in God's hands because I am still in a hard season of life. The assurance that God has my back doesn't change the fact that I am still struggling through life. I believe we are allowed to struggle as long as it doesn't bring hate in our hearts towards God. We are allowed to feel hurt whe...

Learning

Image
Everyday we learn new things whether it is something for our jobs or something for our daily lives. I enjoy learning new things in life, but when it comes to hard things I struggle somethings. Recently God has put on my heart to read the Bible more because I have analyzed my life and I am struggling with a lot of the fruits of the spirit from my life. I was being decieved that I was on the right track, but God has pointed me back. He does it in such a merciful way without punishment, but everytime something goes wrong I definitely tell myself that I deserved it because I sinned or made a mistake. As many times as I have failed to stay on the right path, I am so grateful that God is still nudging me to get back. I have learned a lot, but there is so much more to learn that I don't even think I will be able to keep up. I can't wait to be in heaven and just worship God with everything I have instead of trying to keep up with this life and this world. It is so tiring!  Tomorrow I s...

Redwood National Park

Image
Driving home from Oregon I decided to visit 8 national parks but only made it to 6. I left Oregon on Monday morning and arrived in Georgia on Friday. The first National Park I went to was the Redwood National Park. I drove through the Howland Hill Road . There are also a lot of very beautiful areas to hike to see more redwood trees.  Through my drive I was worried the roads would be too rough for my small Honda Civic. I had to drive pretty slow because there were a lot of potholes but it was not as rough as I had expected. The road was also pretty big so two cars could pass by each other without a problem. The drive was beautiful and the trees were bigger than my car. I would stop the car on the side and take photos in areas where I could place my phone on my car to take photos. I would recommend going to this national park with at least another person so that you can take photos of each other.  Here are some photos I have taken at the national Park:       ...

Oregon Waterfalls

Image
Some friends came over to visit some of the fallsi in Oregon. On the way to Multnomah falls we stopped to see Wahkeena falls. Multnomah falls is the biggest waterfal I have ever seen and it is also my favorite as it is the most visual appealing. The first time I went there I hiked all the way to the top which I would not hike again. The landscape views were beautiful but the waterfal did not look any better from the top.                                      As soon as you start walking towards Multnomah falls it feels like it is raining. Since it is such a big waterfal the whole area is covered in water. The trees have moss hanging from them and covering them completely and the ferns are growing all around. I have many photos of different parts of the ladscape but I won't post them as I know they are not as interesting for others.  Multnomah Falls Wahkeena Falls After these beautiful...

Breakthrough

Image
I always seem to get shocked when I go through a breakthrough and the evil one comes at me even more with the attacks. Passion Conference was amazing and life changing. God showed me so much during the experience and that he wants to use me in the area I am currently. He took me to different areas to use me in them and instead I did not allow him to use me for his glory. After coming back home I instead spent my time watching movies and have stayed away from his word. How disobedient of me! I am so ashamed but it is something I have done time and time again. Today I have realized that I need to give myself a specific amount of television time like a child limiting myself to stay focused and stay on the path that I am supposed to walk. I am so greateful for the Holy Spirit because whenever I have started to get off track and lose my way, he has pulled me back and helped me realize that I am going the wrong way.  Christine said that only 16% of the people in the stadium will listen t...

Where Is The Sun?

Image
I have always taken the sun and the warmth of the sun for granted as I have always lived where the sun is seen often. I now find myself in a state where the sun is not seen often due to the rainy winter season. I have been in Oregon for a couple of months and since I have been here I have seen more rain than I have ever seen in one season. It rains almost daily and the sun is nowhere to be seen, even on non rainy days. When I first got here I didn't understand why people were so affected by not seeing sunlight. I have always been told to be careful of the sun because it is dangerous, but here people feel the opposite about the sun. Everything looks and feels gray and gloomy most days. On my way to work the other day I was looking at the sky and tried to think about what the sun looked like or felt like on the skin. It took quite a while for me to remember as I have never thought the sun was that important. While I have been here I have spoken to many locals and they say that Season...

Introductory Post

Hello, everyone. My name is Ruth.  I will be posting my travel experiences on here as well as bible passages that I really love as I study the bible. I travel a lot for work and it is also a hobby of mine. If you read my posts, you will see the world through my eyes as well as what I understand when I look at the world. I will apologize in advance if there is anything on here in the future that a reader does not agree with or like. It would be great if people could come here and read my posts but if you do not want to read them, please don't. I am also not the best at grammer so if there are mistakes I am also very sorry about that. I am not one to hide what I truly feel and I tend to be pretty straight forward. I am not sure yet how often I will be able to post but there are a lot of experiences I will post from my past travels as well as my future travels. Come see the world through my eyes.  Thank you for reading. God Bless You!!
